Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about THC, our operations, and how you can help.
Community emergency response refers to trained local volunteers and organizations who assist during emergencies such as natural disasters, medical crises, or public safety incidents. These teams help with immediate response efforts like first aid, supplies/meals, and communication until professional responders arrive.
A disaster relief organization provides immediate support after emergencies. The Texas Hospitality Collective's services typically include volunteer logistics and deployment, emergency food distribution, and resource coordination for affected communities. Outside of the disaster relief efforts, we're also committed to wild land preservation — currently focused on protecting Big Bend National Park.
Donations directly support our community emergency response and disaster relief efforts in Texas, helping us provide immediate assistance to individuals and families impacted by disasters. Every dollar goes toward disaster relief operations, including fuel for supply trucks, temporary shelter materials, food and water distribution, emergency supplies, cleanup materials, case management services, and on-the-ground volunteer coordination. In addition to immediate response, donations help sustain recovery programs, volunteer coordination, community preparedness initiatives, and our wild land preservation efforts. This allows us to support Texas communities during a crisis while also helping them recover and prepare for future emergencies. We are committed to full financial transparency and publish annual reports that show how funds are allocated.
You can get involved by volunteering with local nonprofit response teams like the Texas Hospitality Collective, donating supplies or funds, and participating in local preparedness and awareness programs.
We operate statewide across Texas, responding wherever floods, wildfires, or other natural disasters impact communities. Our network of volunteers and partners allows us to mobilize quickly to any region of the state.
Texas is home to some of the most irreplaceable wild lands in the country — from Big Bend's desert canyons to the Gulf Coast wetlands. Our preservation work focuses on protecting these landscapes from development and degradation. Right now, our primary effort is stopping construction that threatens Big Bend National Park.
We work alongside community partners including Mill Scale Metalworks and Best Little Wine & Books, among others. These partnerships strengthen our ability to respond quickly and effectively when disaster strikes. We're always open to new partnerships with organizations that share our mission.

We're Texan through and through. While national organizations play an important role, THC is built by Texans for Texas communities. We know the terrain, the people, and the unique challenges this state faces. Our lean structure means faster response times and less overhead — more of your dollar reaches the people who need it.
